A short checklist that prevents the most common reason a container delivery fails: the truck cannot get in, or cannot get the box off.

Almost every failed container delivery comes down to something visible in a photograph taken the week before. Ten minutes of site preparation avoids a futile trip charge and a rescheduled delivery.
A prime mover and skel trailer is around 19 metres long. It needs a straight approach, a driveway crossover it will not ground out on, and somewhere to turn around or reverse safely. Narrow suburban streets with parked cars are a genuine constraint, and in some cases the answer is an early-morning delivery before the street fills.
Decide before booking. If you have a forklift rated for the load, a standard skel delivery works and you tail-unload. If you do not, book a sideloader so the box comes off at ground level. If you only need the freight, not the box, a live unload with your team unpacking into the warehouse is often simplest.
Have someone on site who can sign for the delivery and direct the driver, know your site induction requirements in advance, and provide any PPE or access codes the driver will need. If the delivery is after hours, confirm gate access and lighting.
For ground placement, prepare the exact position: level, firm, and with plinths or bearers already in place if you are using them. Remember that once a container is on the ground it is not easily nudged — a few centimetres out is a return visit.
